The aim of our sheltered housing is to support and enable our tenants to live independently, within a community with shared values and a sense of community. Each of our properties is let at reasonable rents on an assured tenancy. Accordingly, applicants need to be capable of independent living at the point of taking up a tenancy, however, should additional care services become necessary from other agencies later, then CESSA HA will help to facilitate this within a tenants home at their cost.
CESSA HA has 5 Schemes of its own in the Portsmouth/Gosport area and welcomes applications from Veterans of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force (including National Servicemen). Current eligibility also includes spouses, partners, widows/widowers, parents and children who are aged 60 or over. Former Reserve Forces personnel including the RNXS and MOD Civil Service are also welcome to apply.
The same Head Office also manages a further 3 Schemes that are owned by Greenwich Hospital, a Crown Royal Navy Charity. Eligibility for these schemes differs and applications will only be accepted, from Veterans of the RN, RM, WRNS, QARRNS, RN National Service, RFA or RNXS personnel. Once again, eligibility includes those spouses, partners, widows or widowers who are aged 60 or over with links to these Services. These Schemes are Greenwich Court, Greenwich Place and Trafalgar Quarters.
Head Office, CESSAC & CESSA Housing Association, Old Portsmouth
The organisation is accredited by erosh (an annual evaluation and assurance process), is a member of the Confederation of Service Charities (Cobseo), a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant and has a bronze award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
Under the terms of the tenancy agreement, successful applicants are expected to use their flat as their 'only or principal home'. Therefore, homeowners may apply, but once a tenancy has been accepted, then any other property must be sold.
